Ceri Tuchband

Ceri Tuchband is one of our compassionate therapists at Bridges Therapy Centre, specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). She provides therapy for adults dealing with issues including anxiety, depression, stress, overwhelm, life transitions, and emotional struggles, helping them move from a place of difficulty to growth and self-discovery.

With a strong belief in the power of psychological flexibility, Ceri supports clients in accepting difficult thoughts and emotions while staying present and committed to meaningful, value-driven actions. She offers a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental therapeutic space, helping clients build emotional resilience and a greater sense of self-compassion.

Qualifications & Training

Ceri’s academic and professional training provides a strong foundation for her therapeutic work. Her qualifications include:

  • BSc (Honours) in Psychology
  • MSc in Mental Health
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Advanced Training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Ceri’s interest in ACT was influenced by the work of Dr Steven Hayes, the founder of the approach. She integrates ACT’s emphasis on mindfulness, self-acceptance, and value-driven action with the structured techniques of CBT, creating a tailored approach for each client.

Experience & Background

Ceri’s journey into therapy was shaped by her passion for understanding human behaviour and her own personal experiences with therapy. She has worked in a variety of settings, supporting individuals facing a range of emotional and psychological challenges.

Her approach blends evidence-based techniques from CBT and ACT to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and foster emotional well-being. She works closely with clients to build trust and create a safe space, empowering them to navigate challenges and make meaningful changes in their lives.

Specialisms

Ceri provides therapy for individuals experiencing anxiety, low mood and depression, stress, and emotional regulation difficulties. She also supports those facing life transitions, feelings of being ‘stuck,’ and a sense of disconnection or self-doubt.

Her therapeutic approach is deeply collaborative and client-centred, helping people to develop greater resilience, manage overwhelming emotions, and create a more fulfilling and balanced life. She believes in meeting clients where they are, offering support, guidance, and practical techniques to help them thrive. By integrating the principles of CBT and ACT, Ceri helps individuals move beyond struggle, build resilience, and engage more fully with life. Her goal is to empower clients to live with greater clarity, purpose, and emotional balance.
