History of Counselling
Modern day psychotherapy and counselling, whilst having its roots in ancient Greek practice, is best attributed to Sigmund Freud, whose work was later built on by Carl Rogers – responsible for the ‘person-centred’ approach that we know today. Counselling has continued to be worked on by practitioners and continues to be useful tool to help combat and overcome a variety of mental health problems.
