Hillel Mirvis

Hillel is our Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist here at Bridges Therapy Centre. He has extensive experience in supporting children, adolescents and their parents, with a wide range of emotional and neurodevelopmental difficulties, as well as children who are in care.

He has a particular interest in supporting adolescents with low mood and anxiety, who may be struggling to develop their sense of identity within a rapidly changing world.

Qualifications & Training

After gaining a first class BA in psychology from University College London (UCL), Hillel’s preclinical training in child psychotherapy was at the Tavistock Clinic, while his clinical training in child psychotherapy was at IPCAPA (Independent Psychoanalytic Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy Association). He is also currently a training supervisor and visiting lecturer on the IPCAPA training, as well as being a member of their Training Advisory Group.

Hillel is registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP).

Experience

Alongside his independent practice, Hillel is a Senior Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor in Dunstable CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services), having previously worked at Barnet CAMHS for ten years. He offers a number of psychotherapy approaches within his child counselling sessions, providing support for children and adolescents who may be experiencing a range of issues – including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and more.
