Eli Segal is one of our child and adolescent therapists at Bridges Therapy Centre. He offers a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for young people to explore their emotions, experiences, and challenges in a way that feels safe and empowering. Eli’s approach is child-centred and collaborative, giving children and adolescents the opportunity to express themselves freely through creative and therapeutic tools such as art, play, and mindfulness.
With a background in education and a deep understanding of neurodiversity, Eli has extensive experience supporting young people with autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and social difficulties. His integrative therapeutic style draws from person-centred, systemic, psychodynamic, attachment, CBT, and developmental theories to tailor sessions to each young person’s unique needs.
Eli also recognises the importance of engaging parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process. Where appropriate, he offers regular review sessions to reflect on progress, share concerns, and support the child’s development in a joined-up, compassionate way.

Experience & Background
Before training as a therapist, Eli spent nearly a decade working in education, including roles as a learning support assistant, mainstream teacher, and special education teacher. This extensive experience gives him an invaluable insight into the challenges children face both academically and emotionally.
He has since worked across multiple organisations as a trainee therapist, offering support to children, adolescents, and families facing a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, domestic violence, and neurodevelopmental conditions including autism and ADHD.
Specialisms
Eli works with children and adolescents dealing with emotional and behavioural difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, social challenges, and issues related to neurodivergence. He also supports young people experiencing grief, identity concerns, low self-esteem, or family difficulties.
His therapeutic model is flexible and responsive, integrating different approaches to support young people in developing emotional awareness, self-regulation, and a stronger sense of self. Through creative expression and relationship-based work, he helps them build resilience and foster a more positive sense of wellbeing.
Personal Journey to Counselling
Eli’s path into therapy was inspired by a lifelong desire to help others, supported by his natural empathy, patience, and ability to connect with young people. His work in education deepened his understanding of the unique challenges children face today and further ignited his commitment to making a difference through therapy.
Outside of the therapy room, Eli enjoys walking in the British countryside and is passionate about music, particularly playing the piano and singing.
