Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a successful evidence-based therapy that is employed by the team here at Bridges Therapy Centre to combat a number of often debilitating conditions. But what is it and how does it work?
With philosophical roots in Buddhism, ACT is based in empirical science, and accounts for patients founding a greater grounding in living in the present and focussing on living meaningful lives despite the pain that may come with it. ACT utilises a mixture of metaphor, paradoxes, and mindfulness techniques in order to ensure the best results for our clients. Our therapists in Hendon and Canary Wharf are equipped to assess your needs and apply this therapy for those experiencing loss, long term illness, grief, stress, PTSD, and more.
ACT was developed in the ‘third-wave’ of behavioural therapies, as a form of CBT. ACT is attributed to Steven C Hayes as an extension of his Rational Frame Theory.
Our Team
Our team is comprised of several psychologists, psychotherapists, hypnotherapists, and more. Bridges Therapy Centre was founded by Amir Oren who honed his skills by working with clients struggling with anxiety and OCD.
